Race Officer Duty

  • Being a Club Race Officer / Assistant is easier than you think!

It may seem daunting when you see your name on the rota, but rest assured, there is plenty of help available. It is quite enjoyable to get a different perspective on the racing than when you are competing. Plus - the Battery is the best seat in the house. Contact Sheela if you have any concerns or queries: sail@cayc.co.uk

Please download the helpful Race Officer Procedures Booklet for more information.

A Race Officer Awareness Course is on offer with our club's National Race Officer, Sheela Lewis on Friday 19 April at 6:30 pm. Topics to covered included:-

  • Preparation
  • Before the Start
  • Signals and Flags
  • Change of course
  • Finishing
