The Book Club invites you to "Matinee" - an evening with local poet Matthew Rice. Matthew will read from a sequence of sonnets that recount elements of his childhood and formative years through the prism of twelve films that made an impression on him growing up, commenting also on how one art form can inspire the other. 7pm. Ireland faces Wales in the Six Nations Rugby on Saturday. The Club will be open from 2, with kick off at 2:15pm. Stew will be available at half time - first come, first served!! This match will be followed by Scotland v England, kick off at 4:45pm.

Ireland faced Scotland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday 1st February for the opening weekend of the 2020 Six Nations Championship. The Club was open from 4pm, with stew available at halftime - £3.50 in aid of Club funds. The Club will be screening the 6 Nations for all of the remaining Ireland matches. Commodore's Night was held on Saturday 25 January. After Commodore Paul Abraham gave an entertaining overview of 2019, two special awards were made. The Workman Plate was awarded to "Action Man" Tom Rafferty for his fantastic efforts as a volunteer. Amy Armstrong and James Corbett were awarded the RYANI Young Volunteers of the Year Cup at their annual awards event on Friday evening, recognising their contribution across the diverse activities they have supported within the Club. Amy and James are the CAYC Junior Captains, who along with the Vice Captains, Hannah Todd and Michael Rock, attended the awards ceremony.
