County Antrim Yacht Club, Whitehead

1. Rules

1.1 The Series will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing; 2017 to 2020.

1.2 The prescriptions of the RYA and the rules of Class Associations per fleet will apply.

1.3 The organising authority shall be the Count Antrim Yacht Club, Whitehead

2. Eligibility and Entry

2.1 The event is open to all Club members boats. For one series only the entry is open to RYA Affiliated RYA who writes a request to the Sailing Committee to enter for one series. A single attendance at one race will not be recorded, nor be considered if no Entry form has been completed.

2.2 All sailors must be members of their Class Association.

2.3 Eligible boats visiting the Club for a series may enter by exception and by request. They must complete an entry form and pay the required fee up to and including the timings of the Registration on the 1 st day of the Series.

2.4 Each competitor's entry under 18 years of age must have the section on the Entry form re: parent / guardian consent completed at registration.

2.5 For the duration of the Series a responsible adult of all sailors aged under 18 years named on the parent/guardian consent form shall remain within the immediate area of the shore, club or boat park.

3. Fees

3.1 There is no entry fee for the series for Club members. However for a Series Entry £30 for non-members they must show evidence of membership of another RYA Affiliated Club.

4. Schedule

5. Measurement

5.1 A boat or equipment may be measured at any time for compliance with the class rules and sailing instructions.

6. Sailing Instructions

6.1 The sailing instructions will be available on Notice Board, & on the Club Website.

7. The Venue

7.1 The Club is located on Marine Parade, Whitehead, BT38 9QP. Unless directed otherwise (due to weather conditions) all competing boats shall launch from and return to the slipway in front of the Club during the Series. Flying Fifteen may reside at moorings or onshore

7.2 The racing area is Whitehead Bay

8. The Courses

8.1 The courses to be sailed will be as described in the Sailing Instructions.

9. Scoring

9.1 As per Sailing Instructions.

10. Support Boats

10.1 Any support Boat drivers must provide a call sign to the RO

11. Prizes

11.1 Prizes are awarded on Captain's Day or Evening Event in October of the same year

12. Risk Statement

12.1 Rule 4 of the Racing Rules of Sailing states: "The responsibility for a boat's decision to participate in a race or to continue to race is hers alone" Sailing by its nature is an unpredictable sport and therefore inherently involves an element of risk. By taking part in the event, each competitor agrees and acknowledges that: (a) They are aware of the inherent element of risk involved in the sport and accept responsibility for the exposure of themselves, their crew and their boat to such inherent risk whilst taking part in the event; (b) They are responsible for the safety of themselves, their crew, their boat and their other property whether afloat or ashore; (c) They accept responsibility for any injury, damage or loss to the extent caused by their own actions or omissions; (d) Their boat is in good order, equipped to sail in the event and they are fit to participate; (e) The provision of a race management team, patrol boats and other officials and volunteers by the event organiser does not relieve them of their own responsibilities. (f) The provision of patrol boat cover is limited to such assistance, particularly in extreme weather conditions as can be practically provided in the circumstances. (g) It is their responsibility to familiarise themselves with any risks specific to this venue or this event drawn to their attention in any rules and information produced for the venue or event and to attend any safety briefing held for the event.

13. Insurance

13.1 Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of £2,000,000 Pounds Sterling per incident or the equivalent.

14. Photography Consent

14.1 By entering the Series, competitors accept that they may be photographed and/or videotaped participating in the race and/or using the Club facilities and they consent to the taking of such images and to the use, reuse, publication and republication of such images in any media, in conjunction with the competitors name or not, without compensation and without the competitors approval of such images or any use thereof.
